Since August 2023, Casin Certification has been fully authorized to obtain ISSC EU and ISSC PLUS system certification. ISCC Certification (International Sustainability&Carbon Certification, referred to as ISCC certification) originated in Germany and is the first standard to meet the European Union's Renewable Energy Directive (2009/28/EC RED). Implemented in 2010, it has now developed into an internationally recognized certification system. ISCC is a globally applicable sustainability certification system that covers all sustainable raw materials, including agricultural and forestry biomass, biowaste and residues, recycled materials and renewable energy. Bioeconomy and circular economy anywhere in the world, especially for food, feed, energy and industrial applications.

ISCC certification currently has more than 9,000 valid certificates in over 100 countries, making it one of the largest certification systems in the world. It has been developed through an open multi-stakeholder process and is managed by an association of more than 160 members, including research institutions and ngos. As a no-deforestation standard dedicated to protecting forests, high-carbon storage land and biodiversity, ISCC certification is committed to building a world in which biomass and other raw materials are produced in an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable way.

Classification of the ISCC authentication system

ISSC EU：In accordance with the statutory requirements of the revised Directive 2015/1513 (RED) of the Renewable Energy Directive 2009/28/EC and the revised Directive 2015/1513 (FQD) of the Fuel Quality Directive 2009/30/EC, the ISSC EU is a mandatory certification for bioenergy entering the EU. Widely applicable to all operators in the biofuel supply chain.

ISSC PLUS：Voluntary certification is an independent third-party verification system for biofuels markets outside the EU as well as for bioenergy, food, feed, chemical/technical applications, all types of agricultural and forestry feedstocks, waste and residues, non-biological renewable energy and recyclable carbon materials and fuels.

ISSC CORSIA Approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) at the end of 2020, it is a certification mechanism for voluntary sustainable aviation fuels under the requirements of the Carbon Neutral and Emission Reduction Program for international aviation.

Main process of ISCC authentication

Step 1: Select a certification authority

Choose Kaixin Certification (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and sign a contract with Kaixin Certification.

Step 2: Register

Download the latest ISCC authentication registration form from the ISCC authentication website, complete it, and send it to the ISCC email address for registration. Confirm that you have received the registration code.

Step 3: Audit

1. Prepare for internal audit

Establish a review team

l Identify missing information

l Fill in missing information

l Conduct internal audits

2. Accept the audit of the certification body

l Provide all necessary proofs, documents and data as well as access to relevant locations

l Receive audit reports and corrective action lists if necessary

l Implement corrective action within 40 days (if applicable)

Step 4: Issue the certificate

l The certification body forwards the audit document to ISCC

l ISCC reviews audit documents

l The ISCC publishes the certificate on the ISCC website
